Whole30, Day 16

I managed to get back on track today AND have a meal out! I had the MOST delicious piece of salmon for lunch today. From a place in town that does a sort of "clean eating" menu. It had cherry tomatoes and capers over it and an arugula salad with oil and lemon. Perfect. I was so pleased with myself!

Easily the most delicious piece of salmon I've ever had. And probably the best meal I've had on this diet overall! From Plum on Park in Montclair, NJ.

Later in the day, I unfortunately had to go to a friend's home to sit shiva after a family member passed away. I made dinner for my guys but never actually sat down to eat myself. So it was about 9 o'clock when I got back and finally had a chance to have some garlic shrimp with crispy potatoes. I inhaled it, most likely because I was so hungry, but it was honestly very good. Mostly it was a take on a typically Portuguese appetizer or tapas plate that I just expanded into a meal. And I was SO happy to have a day without meat. I'm pretty sure as soon as I cleaned up the dishes and sat on the couch I was fast asleep on hubby's shoulder. It had been an emotional evening but I was at least able to keep my food in check today!
