Whole30, Day 28
I knew tonight was going to be a BIG cheat. I emceed Taste of Hope NJ for the American Cancer Society this evening. It was a GREAT event for a great cause, and of course, involved a LOT of food.
Apparently the ingredient of the evening was polenta - which was fine by me because I LOVE polenta. If you're unfamiliar with it - it's made from corn, and therefore not allowed. I figured I'm so close to the end, plus, it's my JOB to eat the food! It was delicious. I haven't enjoyed anything that much in the last month. Polenta with roast chicken and mushroom, roasted Mexican corn, and dessert. Oh yes, there was LOTS of dessert. Pumpkin cupcake, caramel cupcake (minis!) chocolate chip cookie and what was possibly the best glass of wine I have ever had. I'm not sure if that was because it had been so long since I've had any...but I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
I was a little worried I'd have agida after all that but thankfully my steel trap stomach knew just what to do. No problems.
Despite being so close to the end of the program, I promise not to completely cut it short. I still have plenty of plan appropriate foods planned for the next few days. I just had to fully be a part of that event - and I loved it.
